Sabeeha Kurji

Sabeeha began her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles, California at Samra University of Oriental Medicine. She graduated with a Masters of Science in 1999. She continued her studies in acupuncture orthopaedics and nutritional therapy.

Sabeeha then went on to deepen her knowledge of Chinese Medicine with post-graduate certification in  Classical Five-Element Acupuncture with Professor Neil Gumenick in Los Angeles. She has also been a Hatha Yoga instructor since the age of 18 and is a certified 500 hr Master of Yoga through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. 

Sabeeha chooses to address the root causes of illness and pain, rather than simply palliate symptoms. In addition to being alleviated of physical pain and dis-ease, her patients are offered an opportunity to heal at a mental and emotional level. Sabeeha asserts that one can only attain true health and wellbeing by attending to all aspects of the body/mind/spirit. She uniquely combines all of her skills which she has acquired through her training and experience with her intuition to treat her patients kindly and effectively.

Sabeeha is a certified Classical Five-Element Practitioner and is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine in BC as an RTCMP (Registered Traditional Chinese Medical Practitioner). She has also passed examinations to practice in both California and New York State. She has been a board certified practitioner of acupuncture and herbology through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Prior to her education in Chinese Medicine, Sabeeha attended the University of British Columbia where she attained a BA in Classics in 1995.

As Sabeeha is continually fuelling her thirst for knowledge, she wishes to share this knowledge with others. She has spoken in numerous public settings, including television, about a variety of subjects, including guidelines about diet, supplementation, exercise, and complementary therapies for achieving optimal health.
