Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach that combines mindfulness, gentle supported postures, and client-centred dialogue to explore the client's here-and-now embodied experience. By reorienting the client's awareness to the present moment through their breath and body, the nervous system is brought back into balance, and unresolved trauma and emotions can be processed and cleared. Clients go home after each session with a practice to support them in meeting their personal goals, such as simple and effective self-regulation exercises to manage stress and anxiety, and to increase resilience and mindfulness in their daily lives. This gentle approach can be helpful for clients who are overwhelmed, anxious, or feeling stuck; who have been impacted by a traumatic event or challenging upbringing; and who are wanting to feel more calm, connected, and in control of their lives.
