Yin Yoga

The basis of yin yoga is to let go of all muscular action. Contracted muscles, which are sustained by physical, mental, or emotional trauma, are gently released by opening up the connective tissues and fascial adhesions. Only when a muscle is in a relaxed state can it contract appropriately when we require it to do so. By holding yoga poses and breathing into areas of restriction we may unwind the tissues, increase range of motion, and reveal more of the proper natural structural alignment. This process of opening up more space also can result in a profound increase in mental clarity and emotional stability. These sessions are offered one-on-one and tailored to your particular needs.
